Hi I been useing wordpress for a wile now. It's very good. I just updated to the 1.5 one. I had some old text I put in it before. It's on a Linux Fedora server and I would type a command prompt like this:

    date -s "07/15/04 10:57:00"

Then I would paste my text in and save it. It worked. But if I had the date wrong like that all my blog was gone after that date. But it was good when I set the date back right it was all there.

I have a real old one I want to type in that I have on paper. Some is like 30 years old. I like that time and date to be right because back then I even wight in the time I started to wright it.

Is this the best, easiest, and safest way to put it in changing the date and time like this? To change the date and time in the command prompt? Or is there a better way?

I don't have this on the web just for me on my LAN.

First, go to Options/Writing and make sure that "Advanced controls" is selected. Now, if you have already posted the entry, just edit the entry and change the "Edit time:" value to you desired date and time (make sure to check "Edit timestamp"). If you have not yet posted the entry, set the "Edit time:" value to you desired date and time (make sure to check "Edit timestamp") before you publish it.

    Thank you.

I just did that truned on "Advanced controls" and you can edit the date and time. Very good that WordPress lets you do this! Thank you.
