Support » Fixing WordPress » og:image issue with Facebook

  • Hi all,

    I’m struggling with og:image not being seen by facebook.

    I tried to use some plugings like “Open Graph” “All in One SEO”…
    but the result is always the same ! the image is not showing when sharing post on facebook.

    facebook debugging tool shows : ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags

    but if you see the source code of one of my pages : exp:

    you can see in source code :
    <meta property=”og:image” content=”https://cyber-security-news.fr/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Pwn2Own-Tokyo-768×432-660×330.jpg&#8221; />

    any help please ?

  • When using the Facebook debug tool, there are many errors besides just og:image:

    • SSL Error: Can’t validate SSL Certificate. Either it is self-signed (which will cause browser warnings) or it is invalid.
    • Curl Error: Curl error: 60 (SSL_CACERT)
    • Missing Properties: The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

    It’s likely these are all related. I suggest addressing your SSL issue and seeing if it resolves the others.
