• Hi

I had this player working on a test site I’m working on (localhost). I deleted the sample files to add the ones that will be on the final version of the site, and have tried a lot of different things but can only upload the MP3 files. When I try to upload the OGG files I get messages either saying that the files can’t be uploaded for security reasons or because the file size is too large. I’ve converted these MP3s to OGG with the Apple Store’s Audio Converter and chose the lowest possible file size. They’re only 3-4 minute songs anyway.

I tried deactivating and reactivating the plug-in. I’ve deleted the previous files that were used as samples. There are no big files on this site. I don’t understand why it’s not working now.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Also getting a “error saving media attachment” message.

AND I have no apostrophes, commas, even underscores or anything in the titles. Example: illbethere.mp3 illbethere.ogg

Ok that sounds like a permissions issue or something specifically to do with allowed file types on the server. Couple of questions to further diagnose:

    1. What host are you with?

    2. Can you upload the same files via your Media Library?

    3. What happens if you manually upload the files via FTP and paste in the file path manually – can you save? Does it play?

I’m only on localhost for now. Can’t upload the same files via the Media Library either. BUT the files I tested with uploaded fine, despite being on the localhost, and I converted them the same way.

Looks like it’s probably a problem with the file size being too large. Trying to see what’ll happen with smaller files now. Will confirm if resolved.

Nope. I have them all below 1MB now (haven’t checked to see how they’ll sound, but whatever) and they’re still not uploading. I’m getting the same error messages about security or file size too large, etc.
