Support » Fixing WordPress » OG Meta tags not appearing in the head.

  • Hi there,
Im trying to share my posts of facebook and all the immages being pulled are either not the fetured image or just random ones from other posts. I have installed Facebook Open Graph, Google+ and Twitter Card Tags (1.7.3.1)
But it hasnt fixed the problem, and when im looking at the page source there are no OG Meta tags in the head section.
Take a look. My site is http://www.wildkiwi.org
How can i get these meta tags to be in the head section so facebook can scrape the right info???
    Thank You
    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I visited your site and was able to see all the Open Graph tags in the header. Make sure your image is large enough for Facebook. 🙂

    HiThere,,

    Thanks for your reply.
Hmmmmm i see that they are now in the header. However facebook still isnt pulling the OG data. When I scrape the post with the facebook debugger it comes up with 11 errors and when I share the post its images are all fetured images from OTHER posts.

    Any Ideas?

So I currently dont have the open graph plugin running and the SEO plugin is putting the Meta tags in the right place. However when i scrape the URL with Facebook debugger nd the click
See exactly what our scraper sees for your URL
It doesnt show the meta tags anymore

    Hope thats helps

If you’re using WordPress SEO by Yoast then you don’t need any Open Graph plugins.

    ok thanks for that

How come when im sharing on facebook the wrong photos come up. And when my friend shares my posts its the same. Fetured photos from other posts come up. theres not much point sharing posts with the wrong images.

    How can I fix that??

    Regards

Make sure that Yoast SEO’s social settings are enabled at SEO -> Social in your site’s Dashboard, and that they’re configured to your liking.

If it still isn’t working properly, I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-seo so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
