I’m also having this problem, have spent all afternoon trying to solve it. Have done similar, removed any image optimisation plugins, reverted to original images, no caching etc.
I’ve even tried debuging pages that have previously worked fine and I’m getting the same error:
Provided og:image URL, https://leafie.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/stomach-cancer-cbg-cbc-study.jpg could not be processed as an image because it has an invalid content type.
Seems to be an issue since updating to 3.8.x recently.
@liamodowd I can’t load your image, 403 error… Any security policy?
@theretrostoreuk I checked your source code, everything is correct but for some reasons it doesn’t seem ok for FB.
However, when I load what FB saw, it’s perfectly good:

So, it could be a temporary bug from Facebook (it happens regularly).

As mentioned, links that could previously pull an og image on Facebook, Twitter etc have stopped working as have new articles.
@liamodowd can you go to SEO, Advanced, Advanced tab.
Is “Disable trailing slash for metas” option checked?
If yes, uncheck it, save changes and clear your cache.
BTW, I get a 403 error when I try to load your OG image jpg file…
I tried the other image but the same issue. Maybe it due to the image being blocked for some reason, not sure how thats come about as we’ve made no changes server side. I’ll look into, thanks for your help, at least that canonical issue is fixed!

The source code of your site is correct.
However the image is a little small.
So it will be display on the left of your link sharing (not full width).
Hi Benjamin Denis tnx for your time. But my image is 600×800 px, its not about size. Its about nothing show (image) in debuger. I tried with diferent image. But everything is the same – wothout image. The same thing with all products and pages form that domain. Host resaurses is fine – DEDICATED SERVER. Sry for bad english.
Sry. My ex host didnt have enough resourses. Migrate to new host resolve that problem. Tnx for your time and effort.
