Support » Plugin: Page scroll to id » “Offset” functionality stopped working in the last few weeks ….

  • Hi,

    Great plugin, thanks!

I am using the plugin with the Phlox theme (which uses Elementor) on a number of my sites.

At the end of December 2019 (and possibly January 2020) I implemented the plugin in my websites. I am using the “offset” functionality of the plugin, and initially it worked perfectly.

However, recently the offset functionality has stopped working.

(There have been a number of Elementor updates and Phlox updates.)

Here is an example page where the offset functionality worked perfectly with the expandable wiki-style in-page TOC links. But now, it seems that the offset is no longer recognised by the plugin.

Can you please advise me on what may be the problem and how to fix it?

Note that I do have the “Prevent other scripts from handling plugin’s links (if possible)” set to true.

    Kind regards,

There’s a script in your theme that applies smooth scrolling functionality on your links and overrides “Page scroll to id” and its settings (like offset etc.). The script that does this is this:

My guess is that this script/functionality was added at some point when the theme was updated.

I see that you enabled “Prevent other scripts from handling plugin’s links” option but unfortunately it cannot remove the theme’s smooth scrolling functionality.

The only thing you can do is a)ask the theme developers if there’s an option to disable the theme’s smooth scrolling functionality or b)manually edit the script above to disable it yourself (this of course would be necessary each time you update the theme).

    Hope this helps
