Hi Catherine, Yes, I do custom work. Where does this encoded link come from and where do you want to place it? Is that a link that you want to insert into link library and just want to convert to look proper? or do you need this function somewhere else in WordPress?
No it is not for Link Library, I have streaming program that is for the students in my charter school. I build out courses with these embed codes that they provide For the video lessons. So I am going to need to do a lot of them, I was looking for something that would possibly dynamically change the links as I place in the embed media option in the word press editor? I can manually do them one by one with a website https://www.url-encode-decode.com/. But it’s just very time-consuming
There is likely a way to do this, but I will need to research a bit more to have a better idea of the scope of work to be done.
To be sure I am following the correct workflow:
– Which version of WordPress are you currently running?
– Are you using the new Gutenberg editor to create posts or did you install the classic editor plugin?
– Are you using the Jetpack plugin? Apparently this plugin might cause issues with what you are trying to achieve from some of the quick research I have done.
– Can you list the exact steps you are taking to add your links to a post or page?
Since this is not related to Link Library, you can contact me directly via e-mail to answer all of these questions: ylefebvre at gmail.
I use the classic editor, to insert a click insert in the classic editor dropdien, then media and paste the link in the general option URL spot. I do not use Gutenberg or jet pack and I am using the most current version of word press. Thank you for looking into it for me. I will continue to do it in the multi step process, there isn’t a hurry but if you can figure out a way that would be awesome.
