Facebook Likes and shares our plugins shows are not for your Facebook page, these are the likes for the page you have chosen in Target Url
option in widget options (if you have enabled share/like buttons widget from Appearance > Widgets
page in admin area) or Standard Interface/Floating Interface
section if you are using default like/share buttons. If you want to show likes/shares of your Facebook page instead, you can choose Custom Url
in Target Url
option and specify the url of your Facebook page.
Thank you for explaining that for me. I thought might be the case. I wonder, however, which is the best way to go?
1. Using the default. Do the Likes appear anywhere other than on the page have the widget on? It does not appear on FB.
2. Using the Like button tied to your FB page is helpful because it gets your more visibility on FB I would think.
Using the default way, likes won’t appear anywhere else than the webpage where like button is placed. It adds to the virality factor of the webpage. Website visitor can have an idea which webpage is more/less liked based on Facebook likes/shares.
If you want to increase number of likes of your Facebook page, second way is to go.
