Disclaimer: I am the author of this plugin so I am obviously biased.

I am using this plugin myself on the MailChimp for WordPress features page and it has done wonders for me. This plugin is built as an add-on as I reckoned not all users of the original plugin would need this kind of functionality. This way, the base plugins stays as lean as possible.
