OceanWP Customizer vs Elementor Templates

    I am using OceanWP, Elementor Pro And CPT/UI for post types. I have 3 CPTs and want a Page Title with Background Image using a different image for each (on both cpt-single and cpt-archive).

    I see in Customizer where I can globally set a Page Title with Background Image. I was under the impression that if I created a CPT template with Elementor Pro that this would override OceanWP’s single and archive templates for my CPT, but it does not. Instead the BG image set in Customizer remains on the template, and Elementor only controls the body of the template, not the page title, its bg image, the sidebar, etc.

    I was also under the impression that the OceanWP settings on the cpt template itself would override Customizer (as they do for Pages), but it does not. These settings appear to do nothing at all for a CPT, totally useless as far as I can tell.

    Seems the only way to set a unique BG image for each CPT (other than custom php) is to hide the page title site-wide(!), effecting every post and page, and only then do I have a blank slate to make a template in Elementor Pro for these CPTs.

    Either I am doing something wrong or OceanWP is not nearly as Elementor-friendly as I first thought. The OceanWP documentation is woefully inadequate to answer this. Can anyone shed light on this please? Thx.

    Hello,

    Try to disable the page title for CPT and add one using Elementor as you want. Add the below code to the child theme’s functions.php file to disable page title only for CPT. Edit the code and add CPT name to make it as per your need – 

    function enable_archive_page_title( $return ) {
    if ( is_archive() ) {
        $return = false;
    }
    return $return;
}
add_filter( 'ocean_display_page_header', 'enable_archive_page_title' );
