Any plugin that requires a premium theme is a premium plugin.

Any theme that requires a premium plugin is a premium theme

Any child theme that requires a premium theme is a premium child theme.

Now wouldn’t it be nice is such items were not hosted on WordPress.org?

Please again, give this a read.

Your one word topic titles really aren’t that useful. Unless you believe you are composing poetry (and if so you’re in the wrong forums) please create topics with meaningful subject titles.

There are plugins like that and they are legitimate and permitted. It is the code that is GPL’ed and as long as the plugin doesn’t go against the plugin guidelines.

The theme requirements for being hosted in the WordPress repository are very strict. As long as the theme works without a plugin (premium or not) then that is permitted. Why would it not be?

Any child theme that requires a premium theme is a premium child theme.

Please provide an example of that via a link. Simply put that should never happen and I am 99.994% sure that’s not the case.

If you can provide a link where that actually does occur then it will get addressed.

It would be nice if you did not conflate what is permitted with what you do not seem to like. 😉
