'Object not found!' Error 404

After reinstalling WP & database on localhost (xampp), the index page loaded fine. When navigating to wp-admin the notice pops up that the database needs updating, may take a few minutes, yada yada. I click ‘ok’ or ‘continue’ or whatever it says, then I get Object not found! The index page no longer loads either, returning the same error.
