• I had Simply Instagram installed and working fine. Then midday today, it stopped displaying. I tried reinstalling it, removing my Instagram’s authorization, etc. Now when I try to reauthorize it I get the following error:

    {"code": 403, "error_type": "OAuthForbiddenException", "error_message": "You are not a sandbox user of this client"}

Can anyone help? I don’t know where to go from here.

Hrm, I’m guessing that it’s actually Simply Instagram that’s the problem then… perhaps something went wrong with the way they’re accessing the Instagram API. Hopefully it will fix itself shortly…

I’m getting it with the “Instagram for WordPress” plugin so I’m guessing it’s an Instagram thing.

    https://www.instagram.com/developer/sandbox/

“Any app created before Nov 17, 2015 will continue to function until June 1, 2016. On that date, the app will automatically be moved to Sandbox Mode if it wasn’t approved through the review process. The previous version of our documentation is still available here.”

I guess the developers need to re-approve the plugin? I don’t see a way for each user of the plugin to do this? When I try to edit my clients the button for going live from Sandbox mode is greyed out.

I am using the “Instagram Feed” plugin on a different site, and there I was alerted about the need to get a new access token. The plugin helped me re-authorize through the wp-admin backend, no problem. I am not able to do the same with the “Simple Instagram” plugin, unfortunately.

(edited because of typo, this is for Simple Instagram too, not just the other ones mentioned)

“Instagram Feed” released an update around 16 hours ago that includes “Compatible with the June 1st Instagram API changes” on description.

Update your app and the problem will be solved.

at June 01 Instagram has changed its API and we have to update our plugins. That’s the way. Thanks guys!!

Douglas, vrt54 – no, this does not fix the issue.

this plugin – latest Version 1.3.3 – is dead in the water presently. IG works, the plugin is not making the token connection and now cannot be authorized.

    update doesnt fix it

you simply need to update the plugin in order to support the new update instagram made and update the token you’ve have made previously.

if the plugin is outdated maybe you’ll just need to change to other plugin.

sometimes just changing to a new plugin creates issues for your layout, flow, function, UI, etc. I have spent some time tweaking THIS plugin to work in MY design and so moving to another plugin is just not that easy. I can do it, but I want to see the dev fix his plugin. It should not be a hard fix.

Any update on this problem from the actual developers? Would love to get an estimated date for the repaired/updated plugin. Have a bunch of clients using this on their websites and it’s not looking great..

Ok… I’m out. This should not take this long by any stretch of the imagination. Me and my clients need to move on to something that is working and maintained reliably. I think the devs through in the towel.

I switched over to using Instagram Feed. It’s fantastic!

thats what I just happen to have just downloaded 🙂
