# Number using RSS?

 * I was wondering if there was anyway to find out how many people were using RSS
   feeds for my site?

 * If your server provides you with site stats, you can check to see how many times
   your wp-rss2.php file is accessed. That might be misleading though, as many feed
   readers update themselves several times a day, so you get repeat hits.

 * ah ok, does accessing the wp-rss2.php file count as “viewing” my site? cause 
   i’m trying to figure out out of the sessions how many are actual clicks on the
   site, and how many are using RSS feeds.

 * There are also plugins that can track that sort of thing; I’m using [BAStats](http://asymptomatic.net/wp-hacks).
 * The other possibility is to route your feeds through an external service like
   [Feedburner](http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home).

 * Yea, I’m using Urchin which monitors my entire webspace.

 * Does it give you stats specifically for the “entry” pages of a session? Any sessions
   that begin by hitting wp-rss2.php are almost certainly RSS readers.

 * yea, I have stats that give me entry pages. heh now to decipher how much of this
   actually comes from a single user as it gave me a listing of like 300 entries
   to a feed page in 1 week.
 * Actually, are /feed/index.html or feed/rss2/index.html the same as wp-rss2.php/
   wp-atom.php?

 * Yea they are. If you have permalinks on, then people will be accessing your feeds
   through those virtual directories. I can’t imagine where the index.html comes
   from though.
