NUL characters inserted in SQL script

The SQL script for the database backup of a wooCommerce site is inserting NUL () characters in the script – thus making it impossible to run the script as it gets truncated in MySQL Workbench.

It appears that the problem may be limited to variable products in woocommerce. The following is an excerpt from the script where the issue occurs. I have replaced the NUL characters with the string <NULL> in the code below in order to paste it here. It occurs in multiple places but appears to be localized around the shipping data of variable items.

Any help is appreciated as we cannot backup our database with this issue.
