My site is also a professional site – I apologize for the profanity in my original post, and only offer that it was out of extraordinary frustration. Here’s my question, stated more respectfully…

    Adult Website-Content Warning.

I’ve had several problems to solve as I’ve ventured into developing with WordPress (I’m a creative professional but not a developer), but they’ve been manageable with the help of the community here. But this problem …I’m seriously about to loose my mind over this one. I’ve never been so frustrated.

The members-content post preview images are set as the featured image inside of each post. They all show up fine, with the MIND-BOGGLING exception of the latest 2 images. They’re blurry, for some reason I can not figure out. Before posting this, I’ve tried 12 times now to re-upload the images and try again. Only these 2 are the issue.

I checked the original images – they’re fine.

I’ve tried re-saving the images and re-posting. Same thing happens.

I’ve permanently deleted the images, re-saved them as totally different names and reposted them. Same thing happens.

I’ve tried deleting them in WordPress and AGAIN through the FTP, re-saving the originals as YET a different file name, re-posting. Same thing happens.

In the post itself, the feature image shows up fine. It’s ONLY blurry on the webpage, and ONLY these 2 images, every time.

Any help would not only be greatly appreciated, but will save me the trouble of punching my monitor.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

Anyone? Please, I’m going nuts here. This affects potential members perception of the content quality.

    Update:

I’ve just attempted the following to no avail.

-I’ve tried using a different feature image to see if the problem lies in the post. Other images appear fine.

-I’ve tried posting these images as featured images on other posts. They show up blurry.

-I sextuple checked the original images. They’re fine.

-I opened other original images that post okay to compare them. They’re EXACTLY the same. They post fine – these 2 don’t.

-I opened images that were fine, and dropped in these images, re-saved them as yet more unique file names, uploaded them and tried the new images created from a previously good image. They’re still blurry when I use them as the feature, in spite they are IDENTICAL technically to files that work.

-I created a NEW image using a NEW source, double checked and triple checked the aspect ratio in Photoshop. Same thing.

I can only conclude now, that something has changed in a recent WordPress update and this is some type of weird bug. I’ve eliminated EVERYTHING that I can affect, from the the way I posted the image to the image creation – I’ve invested about 23 hours in trying to solve this.

Does anyone know how to go back a version of WordPress?

Another update – in case anyone has the same problems:

I tried temporarily switching to a different theme, and I think the problem lies there. I use the F8 lite theme, modified to my purpose, and once I upgraded to WordPress 3.1.1 it appears to have had an affect on my theme’s ability to properly display any new thumbnails created since the upgrade, but only on the posts page at the web browser level.

    It looks like I’m SOL.

For anyone reading this, having the same problem, here’s the last thing I tried, and the last thing I will try (for my sanity’s sake, unless someone eventually has a suggestion though I think I’m mostly being ignored on this one)…

Tried uploading and assigning featured post image through different browsers. Didn’t work.

Contacted the F8 Lite Theme developer …they won’t talk to me unless I pay them to. That really disappointed me, but whatever.

Amazing how a minor thing can throw an entire site off.
