So today’s issues is that the only theme available in the theme area in WD-Admin is my Parent theme. I do know that I am supposed to activate the Child, but it’s not there. Ummm.... As of right now, I have created an empty “cache” file in my wp-content/upload folder. My “uploads” and “cache” are set at 777. Are those the only areas that are supposed to be that? Hopefully this makes sense to some of you. Because I am starting to feel like my profile advatar, ahhh....lol

Typically Child themes are uploaded via WordPress themes interface.

What kind of parent theme is this?

It's the Parent theme for one of the ThemeForest/Wordpress themes. I do see delete, shall I delete and try again. I would think the Child theme would be adjacent the Parent theme.

    Hi Rexsmom,

Does the theme actually come with a child theme? If not, then you will actually need to create the child theme yourself for the theme you have.

You can read up on the technical stuff on creating a child theme here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Or, for something a little simpler, there's a plugin you can install to help you make a child theme in one click here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/one-click-child-theme/
