 * Hi, may I ask you to take a look at **[this](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/notifications-on/)**
   topic so that it’s not a repeat of the same thing?
 * Thanks.

 * Hello, using a service like OneSignal is not required for push notifications.
   You can setup the Push API on your website directly without a 3rd party service.
   Details here: [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Push_API](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Push_API)
 * Services like OneSignal and others simply give you the tools to setup web push
   on your site easier.

 * Thanks. It looks complicated but I’ll take care of it.
 * What I really wanted to ask was this: Let’s say I enabled notifications using
   the Push API. Moreover, many users have agreed to receive notifications in their
   browser. Will I need to get extra permission when I use OneSignal or any other
   service later? Once notifications are allowed for WordPress in the parent folder,
   do I need to get extra permission later for phpBB in the subfolder?
 * Kind regards.

 * OK. Onesignal seems much easier. 🙂
 * So can we do what I said? I would like to have a link in the submenu instead
   of a fixed icon on the screen. “Notifications: Off”. Request permission for notification
   when clicked.
    There is also a question that comes to my mind. The free OneSignal
   package provides unlimited Push subscribers, but delivers to 10,000 subscribers
   per push. This figure is beautiful. I am grateful for that. I’ll have to upgrade
   to higher packages for more. But things seem to be different in other packages.
   This time I need to pay according to the Push subscriber, not the push message.
   Do I understand correctly?
 * Kind regards.

 * I tried it and as I understand it, if users open the site’s notifications other
   than the OneSignal prompt, a subscriber is counted for these push notifications.
   Beautiful.
 * I don’t think so, but if I want to use my own service or another service in the
   future, there will be no need for an export from OneSignal.
 * Is it true?

 * You will not need extra push permissions with OneSignal. We provide our own SDK
   that hooks into the Web Push API that should make setup easier. Our plugin basically
   handles this for you.
 * Correct, we charge based on subscriber count. You can control how many subscribers
   you have by deleting those you do not need: [https://documentation.onesignal.com/docs/delete-users](https://documentation.onesignal.com/docs/delete-users)
 * You can have as many subscribers as you want, but can only send to 10,000 per
   request for web push.
 * If you want to use your own service in the future, just contact our support team
   at [support@onesignal.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/notifications-on-2/support@onesignal.com?output_format=md)
   and we will give you the vapid keys which handle authentication.
 * You can export user data from our API CSV Export: [https://documentation.onesignal.com/reference/csv-export](https://documentation.onesignal.com/reference/csv-export)
 * For further questions, please contact our support team direct for faster assistance.
   Thank you!
