So I have a client's site that was at whatevertrademarkdomain.com and is now lalalalaladomain.com

Think of it as he was originally something like wordpressfunthings.com then the foundation people told him to remove wordpress part, so he goes to wpfunthings.com - something like this. except he used a trademarked name.

I am the sucker that was hired to move all the content to a new domain. This guy has 10 years worth of content. I changed most links, I might of missed a few.

So, so some links still have wordpressfunthings.com/something/somethingelse when they should be wpfunthings.com/something/somethingelse.

With 10 years worth of content, you get A LOT OF PAGES and more.

Is there anyway I can get an e-mail, everytime there is a 404 error?

page with bad link, missing page and time/date?

wpfunthings.com/something/somethingelse - links to other page
    wpfunthings.com/something/somethingelseotherpage - missing page

    It would help A LOT.

I know I am being confusing and difficult. I apologize.

Manually seeking out & updating the links is called "doing it wrong" Fixing all the links would probably be not more than a half hour job. All you need to do is

    1 back up the database
2 create a new database & import the backup into it.
3 change the wp-config to use the new cloned database - check the site is exactly the same as it was when connected to the original database.
4 download the interconnect/it serialized search & replace tool from http://interconnectit.com/124/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/
5 read the documentation for the tool, upload it to the site and use it to replace every instance of the old domain with the new domain.
6 delete the search & replace tool from the site - its done it's job.
7 check the site is still working and all the links are now correct.
    8 beer!

if problems are found at step 7 you still have the original database untouched so can put that back in place, work out what went wrong and try again.
