 * Is there a notification plugin which recognises new events created with EME? 
   I would like to be able to email users when there are new events and need one
   which supports standard posts and EME events.

 * EME can notify people itself (see the newsletter functionality, and also the 
   hooks on event creation), but I have no knowledge about another plugin …

 * I assume EME will only notify about its own events and not WP posts. I need something
   which will either do both or at least use the same distribution list.
