    Hello,

I want to manage an admin-users registered mail notification, actually
between the administrator and users who have submitted a private post.
I’ ve created a new notification:

    New Comment/Awaiting Moderation

Send Notification to the Author only

    and the text of message:

    you have a new comment:
    URL: [comment_author_url]

The message arrived but url is missing.
I would also like that the link leads directly to the new comment, without needing to request the login.

Why url missing? and how can I have a direct link? thank you in advance.

    Hi @maurov8f5,
    Thanks for your message.

    Sounds like you’re almost there.

The [comment_author_url] shortcode is for linking to the website of the comment author.
If you know the structure of your site, you may be able to re-create the comment URL by doing something like this:

    [permalink]#comment-[comment_ID]

This will essentially output the post with the comment ID appended to it so depending on how your site is set-up, it may scroll you to that point in the page when you click the link.

    Does this help?

    Hi,

    thank you for your reply.
we ‘re near the solution, but still not

    with
    [permalink]#comment-[comment_ID]

    I get

    http://www.mysite.com/2018/10/31/nameofpost/#comment-128#comment-128

    with

    the result is

    http://www.mysite.com/2018/10/31/nameofpost/#comment-129

I thaink that the right result should be

    http://www.mysite.com/2018/10/31/nameofpost/

    How can fix this?

ok, the [permalink] gives the correct url, but the user can’t access to the page because he’ s not logged.
is there a way to send this link with user credentials?

    Hi @maurov8f5,

So when you use the [permalink] shortcode in the New Comment notification, it returns the link to the comment as opposed to the link to the post, is that correct?

yes, it generates a link like this:

    http://www.mysite.com/2018/10/31/postname/#comment-129

but the user clicking on it, receives the oops page not found message, because he ‘s not logged. If he’s logged in, go to the comments page.

    Ah, I see.
Sounds like the shortcode is working but if the user isn’t logged in, they won’t be able to see the comments.

You could always include details of the comment in the email notification if you wanted. You can use [comment_content] to output the comment that was made, for example.
