Notification if Access Area changed

    Hey Jörn,

    I have a further question. On my blog people are aloud to see the posts once they are a member ob a specifc access area.
    New users need to register first. After that most of the users are confused, because they still do not see the posts they are looking for. Indeed, they can’t i need to add them to the specific access area first.
    After doing that, everything works fine and as expected.
    BUT, the problem is, the user does not gets a notification. He can just come back several times and checks if i already gave them the needed access rights.

    It would be great to add a feature where you are able to automatically send a short (user defined) email to the user once he the gets access to a specific area.

    Do you have a solution for this request?
    Is it a big deal to include such a feature.

    Hi Zuguri,

    Thanks for the input! Yep, I’d consider this a possible use case. I think there should be a solution.

    I would rather prefer to just fire an action hook, each time a users access settings are changed. Sending out a notification would be some lines of code somewhere in yout theme (or better: inside a mu-plugin). Building an entire notification system would be a bit too much overhead, and consume much development time from the plugins main task: user access management for posts.

    (A sophisticated and flexible notifications plugin sounds like a good idea as well…)

    Please do not expect it to come too soon, I have a bunch of other projects to care for at this time…
