Hello there,
I am sorry to hear about this.
The first step to troubleshoot the cause of any issue is explained below in this article:
https://woocommerce.com/document/email-faq/
Please go through the steps, and let us know how it goes.
Hope this helps.
Hi Igor,
Thank you for your reply!
I’ve gone through this article and checked everything, but still don’t understand what to do. Let me comment on it in detail:
1) Check if orders are pending – we are getting all the notifications about new orders; I’ve tested it from the customer end as well – unfortunately, there was no luck, just an email from Stripe about payment, but not from WP about the order itself;
2) Check your Email Settings – all enabled;
3) Check if emails are sent, but not received – even more mystery is here. The WP Mail Log plugin shows that emails were sent without any errors, but customers haven’t got them for sure – we’re receiving messages about problems to reset passwords on an ongoing basis for some days ;-(
4) If the email was sent, but not received, – we use our general company email with our domain, emails are hosted with the website on Bluehost. I assume it’s a Dedicated SMTP Provider.
I’ve contacted Bluehost support, but they haven’t found any issues on their end. They assumed that there can be some internal WP blocks. Therefore, I’ve decided to contact your support.
Looking forward to getting your reply and suggestions. Thank you!
What you’re having is an SMTP issue. You need a relay like MailGun or something like it. I personally only use MailGun, but I know there are others who like WP SMTP better.
Once you get that nailed down you’ll be all set.
Thank you, Stef.
You just confirmed one of my assumptions. Currently, I’m setting up WP Mail SMTP. Hopefully, it’ll help.
Thank you!
You’re welcome. Ya, it happens it’s one of the biggest pains when your email server differs from your web server. It happens. Adding the relay will help get you situated and on your way.
We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, you were able to find a solution to your problem! If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
