  • Resolved taddmencer

I’m using the latest version of WordPress Stats. I upgraded my WordPress to the latest version, 2.3.3 – ever since the stats have stopped registering any activity. Period. And yes, there is activity. I’ve had friends surf the site, waiting for it to register – nada. I’m still getting smacked with spam (thank you Akismet).

I deactivated the plug, reactivated it – input the API key … but I get bubkiss. I even hardcoded the API in, thinking maybe it wasn’t connecting correctly. So far I’ve gotten nothing.

Any ideas what could cause this?

Also – to note: The API is working fine. I’m using the same API for another site using WordPress Stats (not upgraded) and it’s registering hits just fine. However, and sadly, the site that really matters to me is not. It says that there have been no activity – yet I know that there is, specifically from the amount of spam I get.

Oh, and I deleted the plug and reinstalled it to see if that would work with a no go.

Well, I gave up on this. I got StatPress instead since I couldn’t get this thing resolved. Not sure if it’s my WP install or my server or what – but I can’t have a plugin not work. Sorry folks. It was a great plugin for me when it was working.

Ok, so I figured out why I was having problems.

Basically explains it all – saw the smilie … deleted the code … broke the stats code. Honestly I think it’s a little … well, bad judgement … to code something visual like that into a plug in that would require you to do a CSS edit – but hey, it’s free stuff and who am I to complain?
