It seems as though some other plugin may be interfering with Gedshow. Could you disable all your other plugins and any caching plugin that you have enabled. Then try again.
If it works then enable plugins one by one until it breaks, let me know and I will look to see what I can do on the compatibility front.
If that doesn’t work if you let me have an admin account I can check it out for you. Send details to the email in the readme.
No one else has reported an issue like this before.
Looking at your page it has issues with Rootspersonna and its javascript so that maybe the plugin to try disabling first.
After a private email discussion the issue was found to be an invalid gedcom file.

Then that imports and displays fine. It must be something else like a conflicting plugin or theme. With a url I will take a look but you can try going to the 2020 theme and disabling all your other plugins then try again.

Changed theme to 2020 and deactivated all other plugins.
Still getting the same behavior.

Do you have a url that I can look at? Without one there isn’t much I can do as it works with the 2020 theme as you can see at https://gedshow.le-fever.org/ and I also have it running on my personal website with a different theme.

I loaded GEDSHOW on my live site. It behaves better but there are a few things which I do not understand.
Why does the GED file require a lower case extension of .ged? I would have expected the case of the extension not to be a factor.
I have a menu link on my site with the test data. http://howescape.com/?page_id=1003
This displays fine. When I click on the all or the W it reloads http://howescape.com/?char=W which of course does not display correctly. If I adjust the URL to be
http://howescape.com/?page_id=1003&char=W
This displays the page
I also set the page to max width. This works but seems to get lost when changing pages?

There is something weird going on with your site. Check out the demo site to see how it should work https://gedshow.le-fever.org. If you want to pm (email address in the readme) me an admin login I will take a look and see what is going on. A couple of things you can try is to set your permalinks to postname and also set your home page to be the gedshow page.

Thanks for the change to the permalinks. That makes the page behavior better.
I am still not getting the width attribute.
The other item is the background color or hilight color for when selecting a button.

I will look at making a code change in the next release to help with the button colours. The issue is yout theme is over-riding my button colours. As a fix put this in your themes custom CSS
.cs_my_button {color: #000000;}
The width issue is also the theme that you are using. Which theme is it and I will do some testing and release a fix in the next version.
