Support » Fixing WordPress » Nothing happens after click the Upload button

  • I wrote a new blog entry. I went to the upload section and selected a 1024×768 JPG picture from my hard disk. I clicked the upload button.

Nothing happened – the page did not change; the little twirly circle in IE7 just kept spinning right round baby, like a record, right round baby, right round. (Sorry).

(After about 3-5 minutes, I got this in the Upload section: “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”)

My ISP is Plus.net and my host is 1 and 1 (1and1, 1&1).

Any ideas what is going wrong?

(The wp-content directory had 755 permission, and I just changed it to 775, hoping that might help, but it didn’t).

Turns out the problem is related to the Netgear DG834G that is between my computer and the internet connection.

It has a “feature” called “Enable Trend Micro Security Services” under “Security Service”.

If that is turned on, then the router often blocks most uploads (to blogs, to picture sites, etc).
