• Hi,

I’m having some weird issue with the plugin and can’t get it work for me.

When I first installed the plugin, I can see that cache files are being created on the ‘cache’ directory (at this point, I didn’t make any changes to the folder permission and it remains 755).

After that, I clicked the ‘Save changes and Flush Cache’ button and I can see the notification that the cache files has been deleted and those files are removed from the ‘cache’ folder.

At this point, the cache files are not written to the ‘cache’ folder anymore. I tried to change the folder permission to 777 but it doesn’t help. and when I clicked the ‘Save changes and Flush Cache’ button again, this time I see the error message:
Notice: Could not delete any cached files. Please manually flush the cache directory.

I’m at lost right now. Minification is working but files aren’t being written to the cache folder anymore.

I’ve turn on ‘enable debug’ and try to enable/disable using the friendly mini url feature but still files aren’t being written.

Any idea how I can further troubleshoot this?

  • Hi!

Hey, you may be having the same issue as me. It definitely sounds like it!

But I figured it out yesterday! It was a simple overlook, mistake.

But in short, you may have placed a custom cache directory in the WordPress document root field. That is what I did and it had my brain all messed up for a couple days.

@swsalim do you happen to use nginx or just apache?

    Apache

This was in local mamp though to add…

Somebody else mentioned the same type of issue.

I mentioned this thread to them. They may have done the same, but I haven’t heard back yet.

You can check on it though.

    Ahhh man, I’m sorry!

These threads were similar and the WordPress email notification link takes me right to the comment so I missed the top of the thread to realize this is not my thread but @swsalim

And responding too quick I overlooked you were talking to him Khang.

    Sorry about that! lol.

@khangminh, I am using apache only.

    @Noahj, thanks for helping out.

I’ve checked your thread previously but I’m not sure the cause of our problem is the same.

I am using the default cache directory ‘/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/cache/’.

For my case, when I first installed the plugin and activated it, I can see that the cache files are written in the cache folder.

Then I made some changes to my css so I thought, I’ll just click that ‘Save changes and Flush Cache’ button before clearing W3 cache.

But after clicking that button, cache files aren’t written anymore. I’ve tried the permission changed but it’s still not working.

What I did now is that I deactivated the plugin and deleted it and simply installed the plugin back and the files are written in the cache folders.

I haven’t pressed that ‘flush cache’ buttons since I posted this issue and I can see that the cache files are still written onto the cache folders.

@Noahj Pardon about the confusion, since we have quite similar problem, I kinda stole your thread title

    Sorry about that
