Hello. How’s it going. I get these error messages for dynamic and static pages.

“Error on dynamic page (my homepage) The plugin is not detected on your home page. If you have activated other caching systems, please disable them and retry the test.

Error on static resource (https://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-cloudflare-page-cache/assets/testcache.html): Seem that your website is not behind Cloudflare. If you have recently enabled the cache or it is your first test, wait about 30 seconds and try again because the changes take a few seconds for Cloudflare to propagate them on the web. If the error persists, request support for a detailed check.”

I have WP Fastest Cache premium… it is mostly JS and CSS. The only “page” settings I see is Minify HTML, which I have enabled.

Any idea how to get these plugins to work together? I assumed the issue was with WP Fastest Cache, but I could be wrong. I also have Jetpack Site Optimizer-Static Files enabled.

    Thanks

I disabled Minify HTML. No effect.

    Hello @consumerista ,

Thank you for using the plugin and for reaching out!

Can you please share the URL of your website so we can further check the issue?

Also, the error might be related to your Cloudflare dashboard. Do you have any other rules on your account? Have you managed to connect your website to Cloudflare first before installing this plugin?

Please share the website URL with us too so we can continue troubleshooting if the answer to the previous questions is affirmative!

Thank you and we’re looking forward to hearing from you!

I have no rules on my account. I have not changed my DNS to Cloudflare. Do I need to do that for this Plugin to work?

WP Fastest Cache has a simple instructional here for integration without a separate plugin: https://www.wpfastestcache.com/tutorial/wp-fastest-cache-cloudflare/

I did this, but didn’t seem to change anything. I wonder if it’s because I haven’t changed the DNS?

I see this in plugin description:
“The free Cloudflare plan allows you to enable a page cache by entering the Cache Everything page rule, greatly improving response times. However for dynamic websites such as WordPress, it is not possible to use this page rule without running into problems as it is not possible to exclude critical web pages from the cache, the sessions for logged in users, ajax requests and much more. Thanks to this plugin all of this becomes possible.”

So, as I understand, I would need this plugin to cache pages properly in addition to the static stuff, in which case the native Fastest Cache integration would not be sufficient. Do you recommend I do the native integration, as well, with the token I generate?

    Hi @consumerista,
first of all looking at your site, it seems like this plugin is not active as I do not see any response headers that are supposed to be added by this plugin. Moreover it seems the cache-control header is being set by WP fastest cache or something else, along with your page cache.

Please note that as this is a page caching plugin you can not use more than one page caching system on a website – be it at the plugin level or server software level.

So, it is highly recommended to choose any one of the page caching plugin that you like. Either this one or the fastest cache. But not both. When using this plugin you need to make sure that the page caching is fully managed by this plugin and on any other plugin which might have similar features, page caching is fully turned off there.

Also note that the instructions of using Cloudflare with Fastest Cache has nothing to do here as this plugin handles all your page cache cloudflare on it’s own.

As this plugin manages your page cache only, you can use other plugins like Autoptimize, Optimole etc for static file (CSS, js, images etc.) optimization.

Finally looking at your domain it seems like the domain is not even pointing to cloudflare and not using the cloudflare name server and instead uses dreamhost nameserver. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/jojCYLV.jpeg

I disabled Cloudflare because I got it to work but it did not improve load times. It slowed them down in the US and internationally they stayed about the same. Right now, I do better with VPS / advanced caching, and I will have to explore other options at a later date.

You can mark this as resolved. Thanks.
