@alhbin this sounds more like an image uploading error than a language or polylang problem. Im guessing there is a server permission issue stopping the upload process.
Check your browser console during an upload to see if anything errors out.
Sorry, was maybe bot clear enought. The images upload just fine. It just dont gets any language flag set to it = do not show in front-end image selector. When uploading from local computer it works fine. Jsut not from Instant Images function.
Oh nice, what is required for polylang to be able to tag images wjth languages?
Very good question π
I have just send an email to their support asking this, will get back as soon as I have feedback.
Hi!

Hello,
I was able to experience the same behavior you describe and indeed, that seems to be a compatibility issue. It is like the default language is not “read” by instant image therefore, no language is attributed. The only workaround I found was exactly what you do, edit to save the language.
We have not developed a compatibility for this plugin that I just discover and find very handy. What I can suggest is that the developers of Instant Image gets in contact with us directly so that we can answer their questions on how to assign a language.
Feel free to share with them my email so that they can reach us directly on this address.
Kind regards,
Elisabeth

@alhbin Before I email them, please describe the exact use case for assigning a language to an image. I’m asking because there is multiple ways Instant Images integrates into WordPress
e.g. Add New Post > Add Image > Select Image
When uploading an iumage, it gets assigned a language. I assume it is the language that is for the moment selected in the admin language settings.
They also do have a function “Automatically duplicate media to all languages when uploading” but in my case I dod not have that checked. That is of course if you need to translate the alt / title textsa to each image. Then it creates duplicates of the images one for each language.
Otherwise, please check with them exactly how it works, and what is done by their plugin and what is needed from your end.
Thanks!
Can you ask them for a link to their documentation on this? Since you already have a query with them?
They referred to this: https://polylang.pro/doc/function-reference/#pll_set_post_language
and again said you were welcome to email them on previously mentioned email address.
