Not Working with Php 8.x

    Hi Folks, I have a client with the latest free version of Social Media and Share Icons. When I upgrade his site to php version to 8.x, the user-facing side of the website seems to work, but the dashboard side fails. Otherwise, everything is fine. At the moment, we have the plugin deactivated. Do you plan on releasing an 8.x compatible version in the near future, or do you know of a work-around?

    HI Jeff, our plugin should be compatible with 8.x versions. What’s your indication that our plugin is the culprit?

    Also, can you replicate it on a site on https://tastewp.com?

    Hi. I’ve got similar problem.

    I have updated PHP from PHP 7.4.33 to PHP 8.4.13 and then updated plugin “ultimate-social-media-icons”. It brought fatal error to my site. (After renaming the folder of this plugin the problem have gone).

    Before updating there had been no actions with my site for months. The site is valamo.ru.

    I will delete this plugin. Just letting you know about this problem.

    @alatena We tried to replicate the issue by creating a site with PHP 7.4, then installed the plugin, upgraded to PHP 8.4, and it worked without issues. Could you please share the error message you get on your site when you upgraded to the latest PHP version?

    Hello again. Sorry for my silence. (I was very busy dealing with guests.)

    I could replicate this issue on my site Valamo.ru. I installed the plugin “ultimate-social-media-icons” and then changed php from 7.4.33 to 8.4.13.

    1. The header with the main menu has just disappeared.
      In debug mode it wrote (in the footer):
      Warning: Undefined array key “sfsi_facebook_display” in /var/www/s237387/data/www/valamo.ru/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-social-media-icons/libs/controllers/sfsiocns_OnPosts.php on line 450

    2. I got fatal error and could not enter the admin panel (https://valamo.ru/wp-admin/)

    In debug mode it wrote:

    And after renaming the folder of the plugin using FTP these problems were gone.

    There are some other lines in debug mode, considering other plugins. Maybe there are some problems in the compatibility with them or with BeTheme.

    Nick, my answer is in pre moderation (there are links and screenshots in it).

    I just wanted to add that I am not sure if I can do other actions with your plugin in future. This site is my pet non-profitable project and it is hard to find time just to update it and even more to debug it. But I will try to help if I could.
