If you’re using Ajax (Javascript) mode it will get stuck if you have any JS errors on your site.
Hard to say about other issues. Can you post a link to your site?
Here, you can check it but currently the plugin is deactivated from the live site?

It was on php since i installed it but i after this issue i moved to javascript as i am using a caching plugin. please let me know what needs to be done. Thanks
Hi, can i please get any help on this one?
Did you try to echo it? Like <?php echo do_shortcode ('[post-views]');?>
Place <?php echo do_shortcode ('[post-views]');?>
in your single.php file wherever you would like the count to show. I am assuming that that’s how it was normally set up since you have [post-views] displaying on the front-end.
or
See if the shortcode [post-views] is in your single.php file, and remove it. Then try to use the plugin feature to display “before the content” or “after the content”.
Hope this helps.
Edit: One question; are you using a multisite structure?
Okay, let me try the steps you gave above but the thing is I never made changes to the PHP file regarding this ever, so I am not sure if the normal set up has been changed. I actually was using the plugin feature to display before the content. And I am not that techy enough to answer the multisite structure. apologies.
