My theme uses the following format to embed “special” galleries:

    [gallery special_type="TYPE" link="file" size="CSSCLASS" ids="123,456,789"]

Unfortunately the plugin does not recognize same and therefore shows all media files as not in use.
In earlier versions of the plugin this was not a problem but at some point it started to not work anymore.

Could you explain the difference in scanning files and how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I tried exactly with the same shortcode the way you are using it and it works totally fine for me. Of course this is a Gallery so you need that option checked in the options (I guess you did it, but I am just making sure).

I am not sure how to fix it because it really works. Do you have a blank install of WordPress somewhere where you could test this without any plugins?

Scanning files will look into your /uploads, and analyze the files directly, and in that case a new option will appear (is the file linked to a Media?).

After recursively setting the correct chmod values, everything works fine.
I don’t know how they got mixed up but it was no problem connected to the plugin after all.
Thanks for your help though, Jordy!

    Hi Phil,
I have a similar problem, on what did you set the chmod values, and what are the correct values?

    thanks 🙂

    Best
