Got a link to where the problem is occurring?
I can load this page full of Font Awesome More Icons without problems in IE8.

I actually switched over to another Font Awesome plugin (http://wordpress.org/plugins/font-awesome/) I’ve used in the past, and it seems to be working – so I don’t have a site up and running for you to look at. I assume ya’ll have tested in IE8 though, right? Could have been another plugin issue on my site. If not though, I’d recommend checking it in Browser Stack or something along those lines. Thanks!

The plugin you linked and mine load the main font awesome library in different ways. It’s possible the website you’re working with is having trouble loading the library from the CDN when in IE8. If you can provide a link at some point, that would be appreciated so I can replicate the issue and find a fix. As of now, I have no problems with my plugin in IE8 and cannot duplicate the problem.
