    Hi,

I just upgraded to bbpress 2.4 on WordPress 3.6.1 and realize that the plugin does not add those two fancy editor options to bbpress settings.

Instead, bbpress adds a new option called Post Formatting to select Add toolbar & buttons to textareas to help with HTML formatting.

However, this default does not enable the full editor with entire buttons displayed,

Could you please look into this?

    Regards,

    Narain

    Yeah you’re right.

bbPress 2.4 reorganized their settings page, which in turn broke how plugins (like this one) register additional settings on the page.

I will reach out to jjj this week and see what I need to do for a fix.

    Thanks for reporting.

    Hi Jared,

Having the full editor available for users is imperative of whether or not site will be able to compete with other sites similar to mine. I’d really like to get that available to my users again. Is there anything in regards to allowing the full spread of options that TinyMCE offers to be available to my users coming out anytime soon?

It was working perfectly before the upgrade. Perhaps there is some way I can make the change on my end?

    Any guidance will help tremendously.

Here is a link to v1.0.1 that has a fix for bbPress 2.4. This version will be pushed globally soon.

    HTH!

    You rock, Jared!

I made sure to enable added HTML functionality in my functions.php file so now visitors can now use those formatting options.

Thank you for providing me with the Visual Tab plugin early. I will sleep better tonight, sir!

    Hi Jared,
thanks a lot. I tested it on my site and bbpress 2.4.1 and it works fine. Time to publish it officialy:-)

Thanks Jared, now works fine, publish it please

    Merry Christmas

    Hi Jared,

I can’t get the plugin working.

I have bbpress 2.4.1 running on WordPress 3.7.1

I also installed the plugin bbPress Enable TinyMCE Visual Tab 1.0.1

I use a child theme i think this could be the issue….

    Working fine for me:
    WP 3.7.1
    bbPress 2.4.1
    2011 Child theme

I installed bbPress about a month ago on a test site. Up until the most recent bbPress upgrade, both the visual tab and Add Media button were available and working.

It appears that when bbPress updated to ver 2.5, I lost these functions. A bbPress moderator pointed me to this topic.

I have installed this plugin using the link provided here and I do have use of Add Media again. But the visual tab is still not available.

I am running bbPress without requiring registration. The ability for the logged in moderators to directly re-size and align images in topics and replies via the visual tab has been invaluable. I understand and can edit the HTML myself, but the moderators don’t understand it.

Will there be a further upgrade to restore the visual tab?
    Thank you

I just tried out the 1.0.1 version and it works great, 1.0.0 did not work, selection links on the settings page where gone.

For me the admin the Media Upload is visible, but for regular members not. I guess and hope that is how it should be.
I use bbPress Attachments plugin for members upload.

I have all the latest version:
    WP 3.7.1
    bbPress 2.5

    Thanks

Interesting. I did install 1.0.1 yesterday at home in the morning. Later I was at a different computer for the rest of the day but only the Add Media button worked for the rest of the day, even after returning home and trying it there also.

This morning the visual tab is there also and works great. As I am working with WP and plugins I find that it seems like a Chinese Fire Drill sometimes. I guess logging out, closing the browser and rebooting the computer after every plugin change is what is needed in all cases.

I use the NextGEN Gallery uploader plugin and it is super. The image goes into the gallery I set, but needs to be approved by a moderator before it can be put in the topics and replies.

    Thanks for your message!

Just downloaded the newest version, no visual tab is showing up in our forums, no changes on the front end at all.

All of the settings are showing up in the dashboard though.

There is a javascript conflict (or similar) with you theme more likely.

I just tested it with all the Twenty* themes and it works without any issue.

Try switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if that helps. If not, you are going to have to deactivate the plugins to find the culprit.

Also, if you are using a caching plugin that is minifying the JS that can break the editor.
