Support » Plugin: p5 : Plenty of Perishable Passwords for Protected Posts » not working if other post share the same "other" password

  • Hi,
There is a big problem, let says we have:
    postA: password1 + password2
    postB: password1

if we log in postA with password2 we HAVE ACCESS TOO ON POSTB !!! i understand this is because there is a shared password between the two but this can’t work like this because this is a major problem when we have the same pass for multiples posts…

Anyway, thank you for this plugin even if i can’t use it for now 😉

Hi NNois, thanks for your interest for my plugin.

P5 plugin rely on native WordPress password protection, and this issue totally depend of this system : try to deactivate P5 plugin, then relaunch the same test… you’ll see that pages that share the same password are still accessible.
I understand this is an issue for you. This has been discussed here : https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/16483

Unfortunately there’s nothing to do with this. The solution would be to totally re-write my plugin to skirt the native system, but I don’t have the time right now.
