• Didn’t work on a Simple Gray theme. Changed to 4 stars because the support from developers was very quick and they are willing to help.

    Hi there!

That’s a very strange problem and one I haven’t actually seen or heard about before.

I notice you didn’t open a support ticket? Are you interested in getting this resolved? Just open one over here or send us an email at support@bootstrapped.ventures

We’d be happy to help you out!

    Kind regards,
    Brecht

    Hi,

Sure! What information do you need?

Where do you get this output exactly? Is this in the backend or frontend? When you add a shortcode or all the time?

I haven’t seen this issue before, which usually indicates a compatibility problem.

Try disabling all other plugins for a second and see if it works then.
If not, try switching to a default theme (like Twenty Seventeen) and check again.

An easy way to do these tests without interrupting your visitors is with the Health Check plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/

OK everything’s clear now. It works with a standard plugin. It fails with Simple Gray. Health Check doesn’t show anything wrong, except no https. Copied all the status if you need it… Unfortunately can’t change the theme now, so will leave the whole thing for now. Thanks for a support anyway.
By the way also looking for a way to present a grid from a fully manual data, let’s say a books to read: A little picture + short description in html, all when clicked will just link to a pdf file. Is that possible to achieve with your plugin? Can’t figure out, can’t spend too much time on a live website.

    Best regards

Thank you for updating your rating, I appreciate it!

Could you give me a link to that theme? I can do some testing if you want.

Technically you could create a “Books” custom post type, add an image and excerpt and then display that in a grid. With the custom links feature you could have those link to a PDF file:

This is the mentioned theme: https://wordpress.org/themes/simple-grey/

Thanks for explaining on creating that custom grid.

I just tested that theme and can’t actually find any issues. What page are you having trouble on? Or did you make any custom changes to the theme files?

OK things getting more clear. My misunderstanding. First of all, I have zero posts – whole website is page-based, this is not a blog, a more static thing. Still funny that with a standard theme, I’m getting a blank page (as expected), while with Simple-Grey, lot of console-style errors. I guess we could close the ticket, I need more time to rearrange things into post entries. Too bad it’s impossible to make a grid of pages. Thanks for the support anyway.

You can actually have a grid of pages. Just need to select “Pages” as the Data Source: https://bootstrapped.ventures/wp-ultimate-post-grid/data-source/
