  • Yeah, it’s not working for me at all, either. Won’t post on the schedule, won’t post when I click “Reshare Now.” Oddly, it posted one tweet when I first connected my Twitter account, before I had configured everything.

I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating both the plugin and the connected Twitter account, and changing most of the settings, with no success.

@reanderson and @schneidan – We’re happy to help. As you can see on these forums, every issue ever reported has been resolved.

Since we have not had others report the issue you described, can you provide more information regarding your settings?

@reanderson – to check the debug log, somply click “Reshare Now” and the next screen will display the result. The context of that screen will provide insight into what could potentially be causing the issue.

@schneidan – The issue you describe about not posting on schedule is likely due to your server’s cron job settings. Some servers limit the frequency of cron jobs for WordPress as a whole. The plugin requires that your server run the cron jobs (it’s the only way) to achieve the intended result.

If you can provide more information, then we can provide more productive assistance. Without a chance to do so, it’s impossible to help users for free.

    Thank you.

@99robots Actual cron jobs, or are you referring to wp-cron? I’ve use d a lot of hosts and one rarely has access to real cron jobs, so I’m assuming you mean wp-cron, which isn’t limited that I’m aware of. What I’m seeing, though, is not only not sharing on schedule — it doesn’t do anything when I click Reshare Now, either. It goes to a blank admin page, which appears to have something flash up on it for a few milliseconds before it reloads the Accounts page, and nothing is shared.

I am having the same problem, any guidance would help. I tried deactivating, reinstalling the plug-in, using different Twitter accounts, making sure it was using a wide variety of Posts and nothing worked. When I click ‘Reshare Now’ it just goes to the blank page.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi @mullenable – since you are also having this problem, maybe there’s a common denominator between your site configuration and previous person. We’re also going to look into this on our side, but can you help with the following information from your site:

    1) WP Version?
    2) Please confirm you’re using latest version of Content Resharer?
    3) What other plugins do you have on site (full list) – do any of them mess with cron jobs?
    4) Site URL (if willing to share here)
    5) Name of hosting provider?

Once we receive this information, we’ll try to replicate your scenario to the extent possible and let you know what we discover.

@schneidan or @mullenable – if you get a chance, can you please respond with the requested details:

    1) WP Version?
    2) Please confirm you’re using latest version of Content Resharer?
    3) What other plugins do you have on site (full list) – do any of them mess with cron jobs?
    4) Site URL (if willing to share here)
    5) Name of hosting provider? Also, do you know if your host has cURL and/or PHP Cron disabled?

Happy to help you gentlemen, and will await details. Thank you.

I’d almost forgotten this. I did finally get it working. Turns out it was that my host had disabled allow_furl_open(). I thought I had confirmed that it was working, but apparently not. Everything appears to be working fine now. Thanks!

@schneidan – thanks for confirming. We were banging our heads trying to recreate 🙂 Glad to know nothing was wrong and simply a config update by host. Thank you!!

I’m going to assume @mullenable has the same issue and same resolution given the characteristics described.

Marking this thread as resolved. Thx.

@schneidan .. how did you find it? You called your host to find it they have this enabled or not? Really don´t have a clue how to verify this in my host company. FYI, I use iPage.

@reanderson – this is a common request for your host. Typically, you can either submit a support ticket or use their live chat option and ask them to enable that library / enable cron jobs. Hope that helps.

@reanderson – yeah, I tried some tests I found on StackOverflow to see if it was working, and it appeared to be, but later I checked my php error log and saw that it was being blocked. I filed a ticket with my host and they updated php.ini to allow it, and viola! Problem solved.

Hi guys. Reeeeeeeeeeeally sorry to get back to this topic 2 months later.
Just talked with my provider and they enabled the allow_url_fopen() but they told me that they support cron jobs but they do not provide them. They told me that I chould use third party like croness, etc. Anyway, gonna try to use the plugin again at night and see if with this modification the plugin will work. Gonna let you guys know.

One last thing I just noticed. The plugin dont allow me to post only the hashtags. My post titles are too long and not as attractive and my hashtags. It´s possible to disable the title post and enable ONLY hashtags?
