    I’ve been using this plugin for 7 years, but with this new version, the database restore no longer works. Additionally, the database backup generated by BackWPup was 128MB, even though my actual DB is only 13MB. I’m not sure what it included, but the file was corrupted and couldn’t be imported. On top of that, I preferred the old single-file backup format, with the DB inside the same archive as the files.

    I don’t want to be too harsh on the developers, but this plugin has become unreliable.

    Thank you for opening a support thread. The combined backup format you preferred is available again from version 5.3, so you can have both files and database in a single archive.

    Can you share more details about the database issue you faced? For example, the backup job settings or a screenshot of the archive contents. You can also reach out directly to our support team with the backup file so we can investigate and help fix the restore problem.

    The issue:

    —- Table structure for wp_aal_statistics

    –DROP TABLE IF EXISTS wp_aal_statistics;

    The DB was not imported. After this error, I managed to backup with UpdraftPlus and the importer accepted the .sql file without problems.
