    Hello,

So far this is one of the best themes I have come across. however, one option doesnt seem to work for me.

In the ‘Theme Options’ under ‘Portfolio Options’ the option ‘All Projects Default Portfolio Page’ does not seem to work for me when selected. I selected a page from the drop-down menu and saved settings. However the slider still defaults to the posts.

Unless I understand the option wrongly. I would like everything in the portfolio slider to default to a certain page, rather than the portfolio post.

Is there anything you could recommend trying?

    Thank You for Your time!

  • Hey,
Sorry confusion about that option (I’ll try to write the title so it’s clearer). It only sets the page for the grid button on the single portfolio post. It doesn’t change how the carousel works, and the carousel is designed to link to the individual post pages of each item. There isn’t really anyway to change that unless you edited the theme files. pinnacle/templates/home/portfolio-carousel.php line 185.

You can see an example of the grid button in use right under the title on this page: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle/portfolio/macro-photography/

What a very quick response! This solved it perfectly, thank you so very much!

I will post a great review for your site later. This is an excellent theme with excellent support!

    Thanks again,
    Aindy

I’m using the Pinnacle free version and I’m not able to set the portfolios in my homepage… after spending 3 hrs reading and trying, nothing to do.
I just need to get 3 clickable boxes (projects) in my homepage to show a light slideshow with photos. Please, help me.

    updated:
It shows the feature image in homepage as a project, clicking on it it’s possible to enlarge it but the pages seems not matched.

    Solved!
After hours I found the problem and I solved.
This is one of the best WP theme ever. Now I’ll try better how works, but I think are good money spent upgrading at premium.
    Thanks

Hey toscanello, glad you got it solved, I’m guessing by your description you needed to save your permalinks?

Hello, firstly id like to say this is by far the best theme i have come across to showcase my work (I have gone through ALOT) however im having alot of issues with showing my portfolio items!

I have created a ‘Portfolio’ page and selected ‘Portfolio Grid’ under template. I have also gone through the theme options and under Portfolio Options selected ‘Portfolio’ for the ‘All Projects Default Portfolio Page’. After doing all this it hasnt worked and I dont understand why, I am normally quick to figure out my mistakes but im allowing defeat on this! Would truly appreciate some help 🙂

    Hi Jameya Haque,
Glad you like the theme! What is it exactly that’s not working? Have you created portfolio items and they are just not displaying? Do you mind posting a link?

    Hannah

Hi Hannah, Thank you soo much for replying!

The portfolio items arent showing up on my portfolio page. Here is a link to my portfolio page: http://www.jameyahaque.co.uk/?page_id=148

i have created 1 portfolio item to see how it will be displayed however it doesnt display?

    Jameya Haque

Also is there a way to change the orange colour on some buttons? i tried going through the php files but couldnt find anything?

In Settings > Permalinks try setting your common setting to Post Name and save changes.
You can set your hover color in Theme Options > Basic Styling.

    Hannah

Hello Hannah, Ive successfully chanegd the hover cover thank you!

However the problem with the portfolio item still remains? Just thinking whether i shouldve created my portfolio items as posts? as atm i have used the portfolio tab which comes with the theme? Am i making something really simple, very complicating?

    Jameya Haque

Also, just wanted to mention that i have 2 portfolio tabs… do i use both in conjunction with eachother as i am not sure how that works exactly?

    (@hannahritner)

You definitely want to be creating portfolio items, not regular posts.
    Check out this tutorial- http://www.kadencethemes.com/creating-a-portfolio-page-with-virtue/

    Hi Hannah,

The problem im having is that i have created a portfolio item and placed it in a portfolio type accordingly however when i view my item it comes up with an error saying it isnt there. now it got really confusing when the actual wordpress’ Portfolio section (not Pinnacle-) viewed through the Pinnacle portfolio. Its very hard to explain however please check this link to understand what i am trying to say! Thank you so much for taking your time to reply back to me, i really do appreciate it!
http://www.jameyahaque.co.uk/?page_id=220 < also do you know why the footer disappears when i click on the portfolio page? but none of the current subpages, other subpages started doing this so i got rid of them

    (@hannahritner)

I’m not seeing much of anything on your site?
Let’s start from the beginning. You created a portfolio page, correct? And set the page template to portfolio grid? Then did you create portfolio types before creating portfolio items? Just trying to figure out where things went wrong. As for the footer not showing, that’s very strange. Have you added anything to your css?
