# Not working

 * I tried wrapping some tags around some text and turned on “show excerpts”, but
   it didn’t work.
 * Tag was [membership level=”1″] and [/membership] (copied and pasted from the 
   documentation.
 * All I got was a big blank spot in the page where the text normally is. I guess
   you could say it’s working insofar as it is hiding the content but no excerpt.
   Need that excerpt.
 * Also, I noticed that on the left side of the large blank spot, there were 3 very
   small grey boxes in a vertical row. Have no idea what that was about.

 * Tested it again today and I can’t reproduce the problem of “big blank square 
   and little grey boxes” so that’s good. Don’t know why though. I’m doing exactly
   the same thing as I did yesterday.
 * However, there is still no excerpt showing at all. Can’t get that to work.
 * Also, I realized that there is no message shown to replace the hidden content.
   It’s all set up in settings but not showing on the web pages.
 * Any idea why this is happening?

   Are you adding that text in a post excerpt/are you using the <!–more–> tag?

   The [membership] shortcodes are meant to be used for hiding smaller sections 
   of content as opposed to whole posts/pages. If you want to disaplay something
   here, just include content hidden with [membership level=0] for non-members as
   well.
