• Resolved Easy Web Scripts

Have a theme that requires wordpress 5.3 And I would like separate sidebars for each post.

I installed this plugin in hopes that it would work and it did not.

Any suggestions on how I can get it to work please,

  • Hello @buxton161

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

I’m not aware of any issues with the plugin that would be specific to 5.3 version of WordPress but, of course, I can’t rule out anything yet.

In general, it’s worth to remember that the plugin cannot add/display sidebars “just anywhere” on the site so it does depend o the theme a lot. There are two prerequisites that must be met for it to work:

    1) there must be some sidebars already registered on site in the first place; if you go to “Appearance -> Widgets” and see at least one sidebar available there, it’s a start; if there’s no sidebars, plugin won’t help and they would have to be added to the theme first

    2) it can only be replacing sidebars in locations on site where sidebars are already displayed; for example: if you have just one sidebar created by the theme and that sidebar is displayed everywhere except homepage – you can create multiple sidabars with Custom Sidebars plugin, add configure widgets and decide on which pages on the site which of these custom sidebars should be showing up, except of homepage which can’t display any sidebar.

That said, if the site/theme meets these requirements and you still can’t use the plugin, could you please describe the issue a bit more:

    – are you getting any errors?
    – if yes, what are they?
    – what exactly did you try to do?

Could you also point us to the site in question so we could take a look at its source code in browser? That might help diagnose the issue.

    Best regards,
