I haven’t tested it with BuddyPress, although I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t work since the bbPress conditionals should still be in affect.

There was another report posted last week indicating troubles (404s) with the latest version of bbPress, so it could be that one of the minor release updates since the initial launch of the plugin broke something.

This weekend I’m going to do some testing with bbPress trunk and the latest version of WordPress and see if I can replicate any of these issues.

I’ll post back here after I’ve done some testing. Sorry that you’re having issues, the client that was originally using this stopped, so I don’t have it up in a live environment to catch any bugs.

Alright, so I checked with the BuddyPress team and I believe that is_bbpress() (the function that normally detects if bbpress is running on the page) does not fire when bbPress is used with BuddyPress. This is new to me as I don’t really mess with BuddyPress much.

So it looks like for now this plugin won’t work in conjunction with BuddyPress. I’m going to update the info to reflect this soon.

Thanks for reporting this, I had no idea.

    Right on…Thx

Hmmm… Kinda seems to work for me w/ BuddyPress 1.7.2. When trying to get to the main /forums page, it redirects me like it should. When trying to access the other /forums/forum pages, it just sends me to a 404 page. So, while it may not work perfectly, right now it appears that it at least protects the pages from being viewed. Still doing some more testing, though.

Actually, it looks like as soon as I changed my forums from “private” to “public”, the redirect works fine and sends everything back to the main page. So, for me at least, this plugin seems to work fine with BuddyPress.
