Howdy given this pluin relies on javascript on the front end and having the right caching headers on the backend there are many things that could cause it not to work (and that the plugin cannot control)
are you familiar with the developer console, if so can you test and see if any errors are being generated.
Unfortunately given that you need to publish new content to test this plugin I can only step you through the proccess of tracking down the problem.

And I can see why it is not working,
you are using a static home page rather than the standard index of latest posts.
My plugin should pick up changes if you edit the static page itself (please revert if it doesn´t as I´ve never actually tested that setup), but it won´t pick up changes to the articles on that page as they have been added through shortcodes or blocks (or if you are using a pagebuilder whatever that uses), as there is no way of easily and comprehensively tracking that content.
The laest version of this plugin now makes the behaviour you questioned here more explicit. Therefore I am closing this thread for good order. I will however monitor it and re open if neccessary.
