Support » Plugin: Team Members » Not WCAG compliant

  • Images of people have no alt tags, so this plugin is not WCAG compliant. Therefore I cannot use it at my company. This issue was raised in the help section >2 years ago and marked as “resolved”.

Edit: it might be true that it is okay to use a CSS background-image object (which has no alt text attribute) for a picture of a person in many cases, but I don’t think it is true in all cases. Either way, I don’t understand why they would use background-image objects instead of normal images, because it creates this issue. It is not safe to assume that a photo of a person is purely decorative, so it should be possible to add alt text to it.

    Hi,

Images are added with CSS as a background. It is not possible to add an alt attribute to a background image.

Rating the plugin one-star for this reason is unfair.
