Support » Plugin: Event Tickets » Not very well thought out

  • I don’t usually leave reviews, but in this case, because of the problems — I feel I should alert others. I have little confidence in upgrading to a paid version, when having problems with the free one. There area a number of issues, but for example: I wanted to use the RSVP facility (free version) and found it disables the price of event function, within the each event page. Maybe they will fix this – but they are taking their time, as I see others have reported this some time ago, without it being addressed.

Also, The RSVP facility sends confirmation as a ticket, (which is okay-ish) but doesn’t include basics, like the event date or time.

Also, the plugin reverts the currency to USD, unless stipulated in each listing, despite the default value being set as a different currency symbol.

There is very limited versatility regarding how things are presented on the page. The default RSVP title (un-editable) remains at a default paragraph text – not hardly noticeable as a title.

There are other issues to – already listed by others. Generally, very disappointing.

    Hi @melvidge,

Thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback.

I wanted to use the RSVP facility (free version) and found it disables the price of event function, within the each event page.

There is certainly more that we can do here to smooth things out. I would note that the following extension exists and if you install and activate it, it should resolve this issue for you with no need to delve into custom coding or anything of that nature:

    theeventscalendar.com/extensions/display-the-event-cost-field-when-ticket-plugins-are-installed

Perhaps that would help in the short-term? Your broader point remains though and I’ll flag this with the team.

The RSVP facility sends confirmation as a ticket, (which is okay-ish) but doesn’t include basics, like the event date or time.

Completely valid point. I’ll see what we can do about this.

Also, the plugin reverts the currency to USD, unless stipulated in each listing, despite the default value being set as a different currency symbol.

I’d love to unpack this one a little just to be sure I’m understanding you correctly.

Unless you are using Event Tickets Plus or our Tribe Commerce functionality (which became available in 4.7) – in which case there are distinct currency formatting settings for this – your tickets will not have an attached cost in any case, so I’m not sure under what circumstances exactly this would surface. Can you expand a little?

Thanks again for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

    Hi @melvidge,

I just wanted to share with you that a new release of our plugin is out, which includes a change in the ticket email to show the event date and time by default.

In previous versions, a small customization was needed to enable the date and time to be printed in the ticket email. After your feedback and some other user’s too, we decided to adjust this and make it available by default.

You can find out more about this release → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-week-17-june-2018/

    Thanks for your feedback.
