Support » Plugin: Max Mega Menu » Not to show hand on non-clickable menu item

    Dear Support,
    In my menu structure the main items should be not clickable only the submenu items.
    I removed the links from the main menu items but when hovering over they still show the hand icon, which is misleading.
    At the regular DIVI theme there is only an arrow if the item is not clickable – is it possible to achieve this with Max Mega Menu as well?
    Thank you for your help in advanced.
    Kind regards,
    Rita

    Hi Rita,

    If there is a sub menu, then the parent item will show a hand icon (to indicate it does something – opens the sub menu).

    But if there is no sub menu, and no link (using the “Disable Link” option in the menu item settings), then you should just see the default cursor.

    Is that what you’re seeing?

    If not could you post a link to your site so I can take a look?

    Regards,
    Tom

    Dear Tom,
    There is a submenu as you write in your first sentence. (At the moment I can’t provide you a link as it is a very temporary site)

    There is no need for the hand icon to indicate there is something underneath. If someone hovers over it, the (mega) menu will drop down and people can choose from the submenu items.
    I can show a link from another site under development that uses regular DIVI theme.
    http://geri.duotone.hu/ When you hover over “Kártevők” the dropdown menu opens and the visitor can chhose from the submenu items. The parent menu item is not a page, not clickable, so there is no hand icon over it.
    That is what I would like to achieve with mega menu.

    Is it possible? Maybe with the pro version?

    Thank you for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Rita

    Hi Rita,

    It would be possible to change the cursor for that one menu item, but I’d need to see the site as the CSS would need to be tailored to your menu.

    Please let me know once the site is online and I will take a look.

    Regards,

    Dear Tom,
    The site is now visible: dev.crowninternational.hu
    At the moment the 4th menu item (Szolgáltatások) is developed well enough to show my problem: I would like the main menu item “Szolgáltatások” and the 6 Submenu headings (with capital letters) to have arrows pointing on them as they are not clickable. Only the menu items below will be clickable and lead to pages.

    I really appreciate your help.

    There is one more thing: I realised that mega menu structure is not needed everywhere, like in the 2nd menu item: “Elszívás/szűrés” – which is also a non-clickable item. However, the dropdown menu gets very crammed as it expands only to the width of the parent item. Can I provide more space to the submenu items that they would be in one row each?

    Thank you for your help in advanced.
    Knd regards,
    Rita

    Hi Rita,

    Please go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and add the following:

    .mega-disable-link > a.mega-menu-link {
      cursor: default !important;
    }

    You’ll also need to edit the menu item settings for your second level items (ALKATRÉSZ etc) and enable the Disable Link option.

    To make the Elszívás/szűrés sub menu wider, go to Mega Menu > Menu Themes > Flyout Menu and adjust the width there.

    Regards,
    Tom
