Not sure if sender email for fatal PHP error from WP is legit

    Hello,

    I have a self-hosted website and just received a fatal PHP error email from WordPress. All the links appear legit, except for the sending email address, which is wordpress@mydomainname.com.

    Now, I know that WordPress 5.2 sends an email to the administrator’s email. But if this email address is legit, how is that possible? I’ve never created that email.

    My apologies if this question has already been asked and answered, but I can’t find any info on the “sending email address” for 5.2’s notifications.

    That email is generated by WordPress. It’s just a “from” address; there’s no actual mailbox associated with it, but it is legit.

    5.2? Get with the times! 🙂

    Ha, I’m running the current version. 🙂 The email I received just mentioned 5.2, so I thought I’d start there with my investigation.
