Hi @dependencyinjection,
The difference between the Free Version and Pro Version are also mentioned in the description. Right after the text you quoted you can see the Free Version Features which states that the free version only supports specific form fields.
Free Version Features
- Stores every submission in the database
- Ability to view submissions in the WordPress Dashboard
- Only supports specific form fields with field ID ‘name’, ’email’, and ‘message’.
It does save all the fields even with the free version but only the pro version supports displaying all of them in the WordPress Dashboard. If you upgrade to the Pro version then you will be able to view all fields that were submitted even when the Free version was activated.
Hope it helps.
Hi!
I still believe it should show all the fields even in free version.
If it’s not an option, then maybe it’s better to show at least all the captured field IDs asking to buy premium to see them.. but still that’s a pretty bad UX
Hi,
I understand your concern about the free version’s limitations on form fields. The free version is designed offer basic features like storing submissions in the database and viewing some basic information about the submissions in the WordPress Dashboard which is a good starting point for many. As a lot of times one major issue is that the email is never sent by WordPress or Divi due to issues with the PHP mail() function or another problem at the server. The free version ensures that once the form is submitted at least some information is available to the user in the WordPress backend.
However, to support the continued development and maintenance of the plugin, all features are offered in the Pro version. This includes viewing all form fields and exporting submissions in CSV format. Including support for all form fields in the free version would undermine the value of the Pro version. At this time, I will be keeping these advanced features exclusive to the Pro version, but this might change in the future based on user feedback and development considerations.
The free version includes a notice on the individual form submission page to inform users about the available features encouraging users to upgrade for full features. I will work on making this notice clearer in the next plugin update.
Free version: Only form fields with Field ID “name”, “email”, and “message” are saved upon form submission. Upgrade for full features. Upgrade Now!
I appreciate your understanding. If you have any more suggestions or questions, please let me know.
