    Although I see your point, you could actually take that as a good sign that the API is doing “the right thing”. The test messages you sent do not meet any of the criteria to be considered spam, especially when coupled with the fact that you sent them yourself, which said API is aware of. Of course, the cumulation of it started cluing it in that it should still do something about it.

    We invite you to turn it on and let it work on a real-life stream of spam that will inevitably pour into any public site, and see how it performs in a realistic scenario before making your judgement call. I’m fairly certain you’ll be happily surprised.

    On a related note, if you want to keep testing, but not be classified as a spammer yourself over the long term, I suggest you send is_test=true along with your queries, so the API knows to give you realistic results, but not make long term assessment that could see you blocked from many places at once as the outcome.
