Support » Theme: Hueman » Not so free…

  • I installed and spent about an hour configuring the theme. It seemed promising despite a few things that are not really configurable, but after inspection of the result, it took me 30 seconds to decide to rollback to my previous theme.
    – The main website displays a nag about the theme that’s more intrusive than an advertising popup
    – The theme crops the “featured image” in a way that makes them all look odd
    – The placement of “featured image” on mobile theme is displayed over my google Adsense ads, rendering them non-clickable and often not visible
    – The progressive loading of elements of the page make parts visually jump all over the place until everything is loaded…
    – The themes feeds you with a “related posts” feature that can’t be disabled anywhere and makes a redundancy with jetpack’s same feature that I enabled before.

Well. That’s probably not all there is, but that’s enough for me to ban the use of this fake free theme.

Thanks for this detailed feedback, even if I would have preferred of course that you liked the theme :/.
    – The nag was a a bug, reported by several other users. Now fixed and dismissable again.
    – Yes, I agree that the size choice done in the theme can be sometimes not ideal. But we had to define several image sizes.
    – Google ads problem : where did you add your ads, in a widget zone or in a custom location ?
    – The progressive loading : I think you’re talking about the “Load Images on scroll” options, is disabled by default. When enabled, I’m not able to reproduce the described issue. It would be interesting for me to see the problem live on your website if possible ?
    – The related posts can be disabled from the live customizer > main body design > single post settings
